About three months ago, I decided to approach my fundraising by being creative in how I reach out to my friends and family in my effort to raise money for a cure for blood cancer.
These last twelve weeks have been both fun and challenging. But I am in great shape, I have raised more than $2000 for cancer research and I have learned a great deal about podcasting and using the internet in a fun and exciting way.
I hope you have enjoyed my podcasts. I have done nine of them. They have been fun to make and I have, I think, done a much better job of sharing my passion for this cause than I might have done otherwise.
It takes about one hour to make one minute of video. And that doesn’t count the wait time for uploading, processing, downloading and writing. I have probably devoted two full work weeks in the early mornings before my family awoke, over my lunch hours and the late evenings putting these together. With all that is left to do, the training, fundraising and thanking of my supporters along with the rapidly approaching holidays, I have decided to cancel my podcast series. I know a few of you have watched them each week, but when I looked at the time they took to make, it just wasn’t a good “business” decision for me to continue. I do plan to be back after the marathon for a wrap-up show.
Until then, thank you for watching, thank you for your kind words of support and thank you for the many contributions.
