I decided to break in the shoes rather than put in the ten miles I had considered earlier in the day. I still ran six and am planning a long run this weekend of at least ten.
A friend of mine told me that her brother was just diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia this morning. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family and I will keep them in my mind as I work through some of the exhausting runs that are ahead of me. I always gain inspiration from these stories and whenever I am struggling to finish a run, I remember the struggles I am feeling is nothing compared to the pain of cancer. This is why I am running ... to help find a cure.
